Lead Hand

Summary

The lead hand is able to work unsupervised with minimal direction and supports the crew in all aspects of the job. 

Attributes

  • Ability to lead, coach, and train junior staff on telecommunications infrastructure construction including rooftops, monopoles, self-support, and guyed towers.  
  • Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings with high level of attention to detail.
  • Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills and demonstrate autonomy in day-to-day tasks.
  • Maintains a strong commitment to safety and working knowledge of standard industry safety procedures. Follow all documented policies and procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and your co-workers.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Takes pride in company image, and quality of work.    
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex challenges with clarity.
  • Willing and able to travel within Canada.  

Experience

  • 2+ Years of telecommunications industry experience both technical and rigging.
  • Experience with working at heights up to 500 feet. 
  • In-building DAS and structured cabling experience.
  • Installation of carrier grade equipment adhering to all documented methods of procedure.
  • Solid background of construction and working with various types of power tools.
  • Proficient with common telecommunications test equipment.  (RF sweep gear, OTDR, multi-meter)
  • Understanding of RF connector termination with various types of cables and connectors.
  • Must hold a valid class 5 drivers licence.
